So tonight there was some important football match in Europa league. I switched over to the match 2 minutes into the extra time and Chelsea-Benfica was tied 1-1. And I really need to sleep so I went: You need to get this done, I’m not in the mood for extra time. And I wanted Chelsea to win, because I don’t know the other team. The next second, they scored.
Chance? Coincidence? Or evidence of my super missed opportunity to get rich? Or am I a psychic?
Bitch, I might be.
Some went to see the movie because of their trekkie past, some because they wanted to get out of the house and this was the best choice. me, i went to see the movie because of Sherlock. Benedict Cumberbatch did an amazing job with Sherlock and the saying “i may be on the side of the angels, but don;t think for a second I’m one of them” found a very good personification in this villain he was about to play. And now comes my impressions after seeing a 4 meters high 3D Benedict.
The music was cool, the scenery was cool. But the 3D effects could have been better (I always keep as a reference the last Transformers). Even if the script doesn’t require you to be a trekkie to be able to follow the story, it’s somethimes lazy and the lines are like echoes of deja-vu. Some characters, like Carol Marcus, felt like were there just because and that I really don’t like and others went too far OCC (and i’m not only thinking about weeping Spock).
Benedict Cumberbatch did the best he could with the part. After a slow start ( I felt too much like he was REALLY trying and too hard to sell the role) he did great. HIS VOIIIICEEEE. But his story was badly crafted, the backround was almost non existent and in the end, I felt like he was there to make us see how power corups and star fleet officers screw up (btw, i don’t know how Marcus knew the attack on the office win’t kill him and why he would want one of his best comanders killed-Pike) but whatever, lots of plotholes. The surprise they wanted us to have as to whom Benedict will play easn’t a surprise, i remember i read the theory along with the first leaked pics, so …yeah. It was supposed to be a story line like the one Bardem had as a villain in 007, but in the end i’m sorry to say Bardem got the chance to really shine, Benedict didn’t. And the ending drama was predictable from the moment I saw Khan give his blood to cure the girl. I just knew some major character will need it. Genre: sf, action Delivered: 7,5/10
